Pros

I get a paycheck twice a month and I will be leaving soon.

Cons

The work environment here is awful. The management does not show respect for their employees whatsoever. Some employees do not show respect for one another and choose large company meetings to air their dirty laundry. HR does nothing about it, either because they don't care or their hands are tied by Andre, the US President. He leads by barking orders and selecting management that leads the same way. Their belief is that you need to be uncomfortable all the time because that spurs productivity and creativity. Maybe that's true, but who wants to report to an environment each day that is wholly uncomfortable? Especially when your creativity and going the extra mile is never recognized because they are busy trying to appease certain groups whilst ignoring others. The current trend is for exceptional employees to either leave, or take a stand causing them to get fired. Heck, the newly hired HR person in the US left after two months - that says everything. The product is always one step behind their toughest competitor. Instead of improving the product, they hire more marketing to "gloss over" the issues and try to keep pushing it. Not an easy task when you have a lemon for a product and the marketing department can't spell or use proper grammar. When the gloss and lipstick doesn't work, IR resorts to straight up bullying to get the product included on partner line cards and programs months after competitors were added. Speaking of lipstick - keep moving along if you wear it. This is a very male-dominated company and women are not respected. There are a couple amazing women here, but they never receive the accolades they should. Instead they keep plugging away and try to stay below the radar. Regarding ratings: Career Opportunities - 1 star because who would want to work here longer than six months to explore advancement opportunities Compensation & Benefits - 2 star because the compensation is below average but the benefits are about average Work/life balance - 1 star because with corporate HQ in Australia, your work filters into your life whether you want it to or not Senior Management - 1 star because Darc is completely out of touch and Andre is a dictator Culture & Values - 1 star because the employees organize some fun events outside of work, but at work the culture is a negative five.

Pros

Significant career opportunities. People who can take on more responsibility are given it, and once their ability to perform is proven a promotion typically follows (not just a title change either). Well differentiated product - I worked in the sales organization for 5 years, and all of our competitors compared themselves to us. Some were cheaper, others tried to do things differently, but we were the gold standard and it helped win very large deals. Profitable company with good investment profile - The products are positioned as a premium solution serving enterprise customers, which is what drives their profitability and ability to make consistent, long term investments (when I was there they invested 20% of top line revenue in R&D, which is very good %). Great CEO, Great Leadership in US - When the new CEO came on board a couple of years ago he helped craft a very clear vision for where the company needed to go based on feedback from the entire organization, and then most importantly redirected significant resources (read R&D, marketing, and sales $$$) to make it happen. US Leadership is world class (they drive a huge amount of the company's revenue so its one of the most critical roles) and was probably the biggest reason I stayed as long as I did. Empowerment - Whenever I had an idea at IR, I was given significant latitude and resources to make it happen. Once you've built a track record of success, the level of control and freedom to make big decisions can almost be overwhelming if you're used to a more centralized decision making environment. Per the above on leadership, I never worried about the politics of what if I failed or it didn't work out. I always knew the leadership had my back as long as I was putting the needs of our customers and the company ahead of my own (if you're selfish or you can't execute a good idea, empowerment may be a different experience at IR (or anywhere)).

Cons

The work from home policy wasn't great (I did have flexibility if I needed it, but encouraged to head in). 2-3 years ago marketing was behind where they needed to be, but they have made some significant strides and seem to be on the right track. There are some challenges in coordinating with Sydney due to timezones and I suppose it depends on the role to determine how big an impact that might have. In sales it wasn't that big of an issue as they were willing to jump on calls at all sorts of hours to accommodate customer schedules, you probably just need to ask about it and make sure you're comfortable with what's required. Overall it's a high performance culture for sure (especially in the US), so if you're looking to coast or hide not the place I would recommend (it'll show up very quickly). Salaries and pay seemed normal based on market rates (not high or low) - if it was such an issue not sure why other reviewers accepted the job in the first place, but I never once had an issue with variable comp being paid for deals closed.

Pros

Free fruit once a week and coffee daily Office space is new and clean Good health insurance benefits

Cons

Open office plan and fish bowl offices - no privacy whatsoever and very loud/distracting. Even in a breakout room, you are on display to the whole office. Very aggressive & unprofessional staff - both management and employees - no respect for fellow humans. Well below market salaries. Behind the curve in product development and marketing - very difficult to win deals. Discriminatory against women unless you are young and attractive - and they are sexually harassed daily. Expected to work or be available 24/7 due to HQ in Australia and management's arrogance asking you to prepare last minute presentations on a Sunday evening for delivery on Monday morning. No option to work from home even one day a week and frowned upon in emergencies - you are expected to take a vacation day instead. The daily environment is exhausting and uncomfortable.
