Pros

IHC thinks very highly of itself.

Cons

IHC thinks very highly of itself and is not competitive in its pay. Consequently, much of its IT talent is being poached by other better paying, tech companies. The trend of losing talent will continue as more and more tech companies move to Utah. It's just a simple principle of supply and demand. When I talked about full-time opportunities after completing my internship they offered a base pay that was LAUGHABLE!! Ultimately, IHC pays its upper management and leadership quite handsomely, but pads it pockets at the cost of its regular employees.

Pros

Pretty good pay. Interesting and diverse patient population. Good transfer opportunities. Decent benefits. Epic, not Meditech, which is great. Good coworker cooperation. Nice facility that is usually clean.

Cons

Lab management treats phlebotomists very poorly. Underlings get blamed for issues out of our control. Unsafe parking. Chronically understaffed. High performers are rarely recognized.
