Pros
Great people, stable environment, good benefits. I felt supported in my role there. It's a great organization that does a lot of good. Very structured if you like that kind of environment.
Cons
Salary and upward mobility. Accounting salary is dreadfully below median for similar positions elsewhere. Some of that is aided by the great health benefits, but in my case not enough to cover the large gap from my previous salary. If you're patient and feel like you can wait, chances to move up might come within a couple of years. Personally, I felt there was too much emphasis placed on tenure rather than identifying star performers and nurturing that talent. Intermountain will never lack for candidates, so it's easy to feel lost in the shuffle even if your perform well. All that being said, I never felt hurt or insulted...my concerns about a long-term career there were a product of that environment in such a large organization.
