Pros

Intermountain Healthcare is an industry-leading company with international recognition. This brings a lot of talent to one place and offers many opportunities for growth and mentorship. It's impressive on a resume and gives access to a lot of different skill sets and systems. The overwhelming majority of people I worked with were very intelligent, hard-working and enjoyable to work with.

Cons

On the non-clinical side there is a lot of outdated technology and things are always slow-moving. Because of the healthcare industry's regulations, everything is really buttoned down. I couldn't use any kind of cloud storage, minor inconvenience. There was a bit of stuffiness and dated practices of buts in seats and being monitored. Most people are hustling hard and taking on more than is healthy to prove their value. A lot of reports and proving your contribution.

Pros

12 hour shift available. Many great doctors.

Cons

Never speak your mind! You never know who you will upset. It's not a place for people who speak up and want what's best.

Pros

It is job that pays better than most others in a small community.

Cons

Not much room for advancement. Training opportunities are woefully limited. My biggest complaint with this post is the cost of insurance to part-time employees. They pay SIX times the amount for health insurance as full time employees. This is serious discrimination against those who chose not to work part time.
