Pros

The SCL system does not offer any pro's, we my long term place if employment was taken over by 'the uncharitable sisters of Leavenworth.'

Cons

Many cons since the Exempla corporation was taken over by the greedy SCL system, which has nothing to do with sisters( nuns) or charity. I have been an RN at St Joe's Hosp in Denver for many years. First, my hours were cut from full time to part time and all employee benefits were cut with the buyout. This past fall of 2015, the SCL system hired a new CEO to 'clean house.' Many of the long term, experienced RN's were' let go' this past winter. There was a great deal of tension and angry staff members. These nurses could have stayed within the organization, if the SCL system would quit kissing Kaiser's butt and providing them with so many perks. The SCL system has no loyalty to their employees, only to Kaiser. Why would anyone want to work for the SCL system, after the way they treat their employees?

Pros

Intermountain is a great place to work. Aside from the pension AND 401K matching, they try to espouse some great mutual respect values between employees. This creates a culture where ideas and suggestions are welcomed and considered, and you're left with a sense that your opinion matters. As far as technology goes, Intermountain is on the cutting edge of many technologies and is constantly looking for ways to leverage technology to improve patient care outcomes. This is the best IT job I've had in my career of 18 years. Hope to spend many more years employed here.

Cons

Some typical IT challenges. Being on the cutting edge requires constant change and that can be a challenge for some people.
