Pros

Good benefits. Enough good employees to achieve success in spite of neurotic executive team.

Cons

Nilly willy senior leadership who focus on making a name for themselves without respect to employees. Middle managers chosen more for ability to toe the party line than for being top-notch. Many recent corporate initiatives in revenue cycle, productivity improvement, and supply chain have been very poorly executed with bad results due to incompetent leadership mostly recruited from inside and staffed with insiders without specific experience. The organization could do much better that the VPs and AVPs attempting to lead these efforts.

Pros

Nice facilities - to impress the public and investors.

Cons

Low pay for responsibility at staff levels. The true priorities are MONEY, REGIONAL MARKET DOMINATION and ADMINISTRATION BONUSES. Contrary to public image, patient care and employee well being are the lowest priorities. Staff is required to work like under frustrating conditions to continually do more with less. This compromises patient safety and quality of care and creates a very stressful environment for staff nurses, CNA's, etc. When HCAPPS scores are good, and departments stay within budget, managers get huge bonuses. The staff just get a bottle of hand sanitizer. There is an intense need for a major shakeup of this organization, but it will likely never happen. Their pockets are deep so they can afford the best lawyers around. Don't ever take them to court! They will bleed you dry!
