Pros
The people that you get a chance to work with are usually great. The work/life balance is very good as well. Stability - the threat of layoffs is low.
Cons
The employee benefits used to be the best reason to work there. They have consistently made them worse in the past couple of years. There is no loyalty. I have seen many people get screwed out of promotions they should have received. For some reason, the employees continue to stay because of their strong cultural ties to the area. This has led to the company consistently giving lower salaries to their employees.
