Pros

There are great people here. Really smart and dedicated. My coworkers on the daily are great. But the CEO himself is getting in the way of the products and the company's success.

Cons

Constantly changing KPIs and product priorities. Disrespect from CEO to his own management. Overall terrible morale that the CEO comments on at full company meetings but talks about it like it's someone else's issue.

Innovative ideas with no sense of strategy or organization

Pros

- Company mission and ideas are cutting-edge - Employees are invested

Cons

- I haven't seen any big picture strategy/direction/vision implemented - at least they have not communicated to the employees what it is - They have grown way too quickly in the past year to where they are underutilizing the talent of employees - Restructuring an organization is a necessary step for any company in a start-up environment but when roles and team objectives are constantly changing (a period of time where it has been on a monthly basis), it drastically lowers employee and team morale while simultaneously making it very difficult for any employee to actively deliver on projects and feel like they are accomplishing/contributing anything - Roles are not always well-defined nor do they set new employees up for success - Not a good place to be as a remote worker. Company gives preference and rewards folks for being in the office. As a remote worker you may feel like you are missing out

Pros

"Unlimited PTO" Free snacks Free Lunch Fridays

Cons

FIRST: Anyone who has written a recent positive review likely has either been asked to write said review or is someone from upper management writing a review to offset the recent negative reviews... IS likes to preach that they are a "people first" team. In reality, that is blatantly not true. They used the "blitzscaling" method for growth and made everyone in the company read a book to try and make it seem like a good idea that will be great for everyone. It's not... Basically, it was rapid hiring and acquisitions and at no expense spared, and then rapidly firing/laying people off. Doesn't sound like "people first" to me. They WILL lie about promotions, bonuses, etc., so don't expect to see any of that. Jon Ng is a compulsive liar, hypocrite, and someone who won't think twice about stabbing you in the back. His nice guy appearance is just that... a facade covering who he really is. Jon has no problem asking for ideas and then attacking you if he doesn’t like them, but don't be surprised if your idea magically is used and Jon takes credit for it. Stay far, far away from anyone in HR. If there is any issue that you bring up to them, assume that the entire management team will know what it was and that it was you who had the concern, essentially putting a target on your back. If you do make the mistake of going to them, you should probably just start looking for a new job immediately since you'll likely be gone soon, as they have a tendency to push issues under the rug. The current state of the company is a revolving door; everyone is joining and leaving immediately when they realize exactly what is going on at IS. I made the mistake of staying too long, hoping things might get better, but finally left.
