Pros
Smart, friendly and personable people made coming to work enjoyable. Managers approachable, willing to listen and recognize hard work (verbally - not with actual commission despite expectation to meet sales goals). I genuinely liked most of my managers and am aware that they don't make the rules rather than enforce them.
Cons
As if on-call shifts aren't bad enough, it is absurd to cancel a regular scheduled shift less than two hours before it starts, especially considering I was only worth $9/hr as an employee. They were more willing to inconvenience me after I cleared my day for them with no compensation than pay me the price of an average shirt for my scheduled shift. At the worst, I got dressed to go into work and had a manager call me 30 minutes before my shift started to ask if I had left home yet and tell me not to come in. That is outrageous. As someone with a college degree (and yes, they do expect to hire educated people) who worked there part-time to make some cash while looking for full-time jobs, I found the pay and treatment insulting. But regardless of my college degree they should not treat anyone this way.
