      Discount. There are no other pros to this [expletive deleted] job.

      Boring. Menial. You could not possibly survive off of the income you make here. Their on call policy for assigning shifts is ridiculous, albeit apparently common in retail. Why does anyone work in this industry longer than a month???

      This was a great company to work for, with awesome employee perks, even for part-time staff. Great people, great company!

      Cons

      Career advancement is not as easy as described during the interview process, and it would be nice to have a better bonus structure for sales staff.

      Pros

      I loved working at J. Crew as a seasonal employee. My managers increasingly gave me more autonomy and responsibility as the years progressed, and my hard work was rewarded with a raise and consistent schedule (even during times when store hours were low). Because of J. Crew, I learned how to provide excellent customer service and maneuver tough situations with difficult customers.

      Cons

      In my store, there was definitely an employee hierarchy. Some employees, like myself, received many hours per week, while others rarely got scheduled to work. It is tough for new hires to prove themselves because they typically work approximately one shift per week.
