Immature and misguided management

Pros

The best part of working here is the discount. Though you can't make enough money to use it often

Cons

The hours are completely ridiculous. On-Call shifts are never used. Management talk about associates on the sales floor. Management treats associates with no respect. The sales techniques used by management are too aggressive and often scare customers away. The store is always a mess due to understaffing. Management often disregard or talk badly about upper management. e.g. Merchandising manager talking badly about design concepts, telling associates how ugly some of the clothes are, trying to cut corners.

Pros

J.Crew is a great company to work for, especially if you are starting out in the retail industry. The training process is very helpful for the sales associate position - they really like to make sure that you understand the product you are selling!

Cons

Very competitive atmosphere amongst other associates for top sales; as a beginning sales associate, it is hard to get a lot of hours
