Pros

You get a discount on the clothes... That's about it. I guess for lazy/vapid people, this is a great job.

Cons

I hated the customers. It's really irksome to pretend to care about what clothes people are buying on a daily basis. But to those of you that like that sort of thing... it's a really nice job.

Pros

The people that I worked with were professional but also fun and easy going. I got the opportunity to work overnights to make window displays. Management consistently arranged sales contests for us so that things would stay interesting.

Cons

I was disappointed in how much emphasis was put on selling the jcrew credit card. Employees are not allowed to have one, it is not a particularly good deal in my opinion for customers, and management expects you to "overcome objections" when people don't want to open one.

Pros

The longer I work for J. Crew, the more I like about the company. The company is continually pushing to improve itself. You can tell that senior management has a clear, and structured approach to grow the company's/brand's reputation and standing in the fashion retail world. I have a much better work/life balance since I have started working for J. Crew. I generally work 40-42 hours each week. There have been occasional weeks that I have had to work more, but for the most part, my work week stays at 40 hours. At previous employers, I would generally work a minimum of 45-50 hours in a typical week.

Cons

Some of the systems of the company are a little dated, but as I stated earlier, there is a plan in place to modernize the company.
