Pros

Great clothes, very competent and professional leadership, being part of a company that feels like it is experiencing solid growth. Their style is constantly being refined and evolving. The products are made of such high-quality fabrics (most of the time) that you can feel proud to represent these goods. J. Crew is most definitely the best ready to wear brand in its price category, and it is clear that other fashion retailers try to emulate its brand identity.

Cons

I think it is possible for the shining stars to be recognized by the company and promoted (I am familiar with at least one case of an employee being promoted to Somerset), but overall being at the Ann Arbor store feels like being on the far side of the earth as far as corporate opportunities are concerned. People have spent years at the company and become managers, but seem like their mission becomes pushing AA sales to the point that the store is allowed to sell more specialty items, like the Somerset store has.

Pros

J. Crew is a great company with hard working employees that pull out results and drives you to work at your best.

Cons

There isn't much positive reinforcement or training given by the department which can be difficult for new hires and constant contractors who come in & out.

Pros

you meet new people every day. you learn about style and therefore get a good sense for fashion. You learn how to dress and be versatile with your wardrobe. The people you work with, at least in my store, are always in a good mood and willing to help out. Its also good to receive compliments when customers like the outfit that you are wearing. It makes you feel good, and it makes them think about possibly getting that item for themselves as well.

Cons

When it gets busy, it GETS BUSY. but that's just part of the business. Sometimes customers might think they are royalty, but you learn to deal with that type. Overall, the only con I can think of is closing time when people in the store come in, make a mess, and don't buy anything. They make you clean up their mess. Then again, that's what you're getting paid to do.
