Pros

They give stuff away, and with the discount, you get stuff practically for free

Cons

Corporate constantly changed creative directiom, which caused me to constantly change things around. There was total confusion about the direction of the company and lack of communication. This effected the store management, store employees, and customers. We constantly had customers coming in asking where everything was because everything changed every day. New initiatives kept on forming and an ad-hoc way that caused even more confusion and frustration for everyone. Towards the end I had a break down at least once a week from just exhaustion and confusion, as my job as Visual Specialist constantly required heavy lifting and moving, it was chaos.

Pros

The majority of my coworkers were fun and sweethearts which surprised me considering how catty women could be. I loved learning a lot about skincare during my training and I loved helping women feel better about themselves. The company itself and what it stands for is great, yet of course it's always the employees involved that determine the experience. Luckily, during my last days there a new manager came in and she's great. I could tell she's genuine and going to make the store a much better place for the employees and won't put up with the assistant manager's unethical ways.

Cons

My manager and assistant manager were very unprofessional and corrupt. My coworkers and I would experience dirty looks and jealousy from them and would constantly stare at us. Since I worked for a Sephora inside of JCP we were constantly reminded to sign up people for the JCP credit card and it got annoying because if people didn't want to it was somehow our fault. The manager and assistant manager always praised themselves on how many credit card applications they would get, but I finally found out how they were going against company rules to get them. They would give the applicants a 20% off for there purchases when that 20% off was NOT meant to be valid for Sephora. This is how they would bribe and bargain with the clients. The other annoying part was dealing with cheap ghetto clients who would always come in asking for like 20 samples and walk out buying nothing, when my time could have been spent on someone who actually needed help and had questions.
