Pros

Pay check hasn't bounced yet. Parking is free. The onsite cafeteria hasn't poisoned anyone, yet, as far as I've heard. (But it is pricy.)

Cons

Pay is bad Benefits are terrible Frequent layoffs Incompetent people get promoted Comp never actually pays out Terrible place to work I don't want to carry and ugly purse every day. JCP doesn't sell clothes for professional working women so why make us wear this unstylish stuff? They lie about the future to appease you

Pros

Great group of people to work with, for the most part. Associate discount combined with coupons made for huge savings. Hours are flexible.

Cons

Marketing the credit card accounts is #1, you have to be able to sell credit. Folding and hanging clothes for hours on end. Some nights you don't know when your shift will end, because the store has to be in perfect order before leaving!

Pros

Try to make work fun by giving pizza parties, jean days, etc. PTO is nice.

Cons

I work about 70 hours a week and only get paid for 40. Not because I'm salary but because they simply don't give us enough time to do sets, coach our associates and train, take care of customer issues, fitting rooms, and recovery of the store so I go in on my day off and often work open to close while never punching in. When I approached the concerns, they said that they were letting go of a supervisor and gave me 3 departments instead. The employee discount was nice until they made the rule of unless you have a JCP card, you get a lower discount. Ridiculous if you ask me.
