Pros

Technically, this is a con, but there is a lot of downtime. Some coworkers are great.

Cons

Low pay. Management likes to stir the pot and pit employees against one another. Management also fights amongst themselves. Unprofessionalism on so many levels. No interpersonal skills whatsoever, spreading misery all around. It’s no wonder that such severely impaired judgement will lead to self sabotage. As usual, there are snakes and favoritism. Unreliable, outdated registers. It will randomly act up at times, most unfortunate when there’s a long line and makes the job that much more stressful. There is no long term stability. JC Penney is going under, barely surviving after filing bankruptcy not so long ago. Hours are cut for everyone. The company can’t afford to be generous. Most people will eventually leave to find better opportunities, not to mention the office politics on a day to day basis. You never feel safe closing either. Security is practically non existent. Overall atmosphere is depressing; lights are dingy and dimmed, no windows.
