      policies are there for a reason

      Pros

      There is a decent employee discount (20%), job is easy to understand and complete, most non-supervisor employees are nice to work with.

      Cons

      Rarely have I seen policies on schedules and hours actually followed. Employees are frequently verbally abused by management and customers. There is an extreme disconnect, and lack of communication, between levels of employees. Health and family come last here.

      Pros

      benefits are good, they offer medical and 401k after a few months. Hours aren't terrible. Location was good and pay was fair.

      Cons

      Management is decieving and operations and procedures are taught overkill. I was not happy with the management style of the salon or the lack of supervision - I witnessed crooked cuts and bleeding foils in my first hour.

      Pros

      The balance of work and family life at my position. Did not have that at Kohls. JCP does a great job on rewarding and recognition their hourly associates.

      Cons

      Other than balance of family and work, Since been hired the company has changed direction on approaching management on relocation. They do not include family decisions. They only give you 2 options without considering your family, spousal job and children schooling. Either you accept the relocation to wherever they send you or you are dismissed. You do not have the opportunity to evaluate and the chance to turn down. They also did away with the relocations destinations that you choose.
