Pros

If you like talking with people and meeting new peopel JCP is the place to be. Customers are from every aspect of life and helping them find something can be very rewarding. Being the first to grabt he amazing clearance deals with your 20% (25% if you reach all star status) if also fun. There are also many ways to get 5 dollar customer first certificates which give an additional 5 dollars off of a purchase.

Cons

Health issuance options are a joke. 2000 dollar dedectable? Give me a break. The 5 dollar CFC are taxed and the overtime and benefit rate for commission associates is terrible.

Pros

Nice people. Good education in my field. 20% Employee Discount.

Cons

No time off. Won't even respond if you ask for it. Benefits don't kick in until 6 months. The draw/commission system is worthless and a total rip off.

Pros

They are quick to hire and it can be useful as an extra income working part time. They are flexible with your schedule, so you can basically choose your hours so long as you let them know two weeks ahead of time. Employees receive added discounts for shopping in the store (on top of all other discounts). In general the management on the floor is fine to work with.

Cons

As a cashier, management is pushing you to pester customers for more credit card applications. Long standing periods making your feet/knees hurt. Low hourly wage. Boring work, not necessarily looking forward to it every day. The polices are not well defined in regards to dealing / handling customers ... managers letting customers get away with things that defy rhythm or reason (some manager being too lenient, and some holding their ground) letting you as an employee confused of what is acceptable and what is not.
