      It's called JC Penney, not JC Dollar, for a reason.

      Pros

      Management is off-site, affording a certain amount of freedom. Good job for someone who does not need to make a living wage.

      Cons

      Low salary, little room for advancement, management at the regional and corporate level are out-of-touch with solutions to problems at the studio level

      Pros

      The best reasons to work at JC Penney is the people you work with. They are all so nice and fun to be around. It is also nice to help the customers, some are not so great but most are just fine. I make a decent paycheck, I would like to work myself up to management so that I can make even more, though.

      Cons

      The worst part of working at JC Penney's is when I'm assigned to the dressing rooms. People can be so very messy, they don't even bother hanging up the clothes that they tried on and they definitely don't bring them out.

      Pros

      I can't speak to the corporate divisions, but on the retail side they treat employees like real people. They also have a customer centric approach so you don't have to deal with dishonesty and shady practices which are all to common these days. Front line workers are given a measure of flexibility working with customers.

      Cons

      Advancement is limited as in any retail store environment. Technology infrastructure is behind the curve, GE is problematic for department store credit cards. The company seems rigid with processes.
