Pros

I have been working for JCPenney for 4 years now and for the most part I love it. If you are a student they will work with your class schedule which has been a plus. I have transferred between three different jcpenney stores and they all will have at least one manager that likes to micro manage which isn't fun but for the most part management is very nice and supportive. The pay is okay if you don't have a lot of bills, are student or if its just a part time job for you but if its not then you may not be able make ends meet. They usually keep people at part time so no full time hours here. you make a 2 dollar commission on every credit application you complete which gives good incentives.

Cons

Personal growth takes years. Most people do not become managers until they have been working as an associate for a while unless you have a degree. If you close you have to stay over until the store is clean.

Pros

Excellent vacation benefits (caveat: depends on your job grade). Beautiful campus. Competitive salaries.

Cons

Cutthroat atmosphere. Infrastructure for such a large company is laughable; antiquated and unsupported systems an job tools. I'm not against change, but the wide direction swings and the unrelenting pace of change does not make good business sense. There's not even enough time to figure out if the latest change was working before moving on to the next 180 degree turn. Stress level is unhealthy and unsustainable. Yes, you get paid a good salary, but you pay a price for it.

Pros

Most people in the building is extremely friendly. There is a Starbucks, Walgreens, and Subway all on campus.

Cons

Hardly any growth opportunities for entry level employees despite being told there is. After being verbally harassed (not sexually) by a superior, I was able to move within the company; however the superior got a slap on the wrist (if that).
