We are happy to hear that you have enjoyed your first year at the company! We are lucky to have an amazing team and proud that we have been able to create a culture that focuses on work-life balance. We believe that time off to rest and rejuvenate is equally important which is why we were excited to implement company paid 4-day weekends at the beginning and end of summer, paid winter break between Christmas and New Years and a non-accrual enhanced time off program on top of ESA required vacation. If you need more details on these time off programs, please speak with HR or your Manager. Thank you, J.D. Power

A good place to work

Pros

1- Great & helpful colleagues in the department. 2- Friendly working environment and the middle and upper management make an active effort to get involved 3- Leadership teams listen and take on board, and would also help tackle underlying issues.

Cons

So these cons are only suggestions for areas that are ok but could improve, 1- Within J.D. Power there are several sub divisions, as the company merges and acquires others. Sometimes, it is hard to reach out to newly integrated companies because of different company cultures 2- Company benefits are regional and US based ones may have more incentives.

Thank you for sharing your positive work experience with J.D. Power and the time you took to provide us suggestions for continuous improvement. We agree that our people are friendly and helpful and that our leaders are supportive. We take pride in being Team Driven! We recognize that working through mergers is not easy for everyone. We have formalized a cross-functional integration team to help address the integration of newly acquired entities, including regular reviews of our benefits offering and career development initiatives. If you have other ideas that have not been brought forward, or if you’d like to discuss the suggestions you’ve provided here, please reach out to your manager, EC member or HRBP as we would love to hear your ideas. Thank you, -J.D. Power

Pros

Autodata solutions: Really none. Accept that you can get very comfortable here and accomplish nothing.

Cons

This is for Autodata Solutions. Interview process: Not so good. - They take just one interview to hire software engineers in most cases. It seems easy but it also does not attract skillful engineers. Software engineering management: Horrible: - They will match up employees with 10 hours time difference and expect them to login and take meetings at 7 in the morning or 9 in the evening. - Most of the management staff has been here for so long that they are completely disconnected from tech reality outside. They are happy running JIRA boards and effort estimations all day long. Thats all they care about. - There is rarely any new initiative in the company. People who have been here for long time would almost always push back against anything new. For example: We just want to maintain our on-premise servers and dont want to go to cloud... It is costly, security stuff, no talent blah blah blah. - They re-shuffle developers every few months and assign to different projects and teams. This became a huge headache since it barely gives you enough time to build value in any given team or project. - Most of the projects are on outdated tech stack.

We appreciate you sharing your concerns on Glassdoor. We do have employees in various time zones and attempt to collaborate at times that promote work/life balance. We support a hybrid work environment and do not require people to come into the office. We recently implemented “Focus Fridays” to minimize (or eliminate) meetings on Fridays to provide our team with more time to focus on their work. Managers also have regular one on one meetings with our team members (usually every other week) to discuss and address their concerns. Please know we take comments about management and internal processes very seriously and ask that you reach out directly to your HRBP or send an email to VoE@jdpa.com to discuss your specific concerns in confidence. Thank you, J.D. Power
