No career path

Pros

Regular paycheck with benefits including a reasonable 401K match.

Cons

There is no career path with the origination. The company continues to hire more and more directors, plant managers, and vp's that don't have company or industry experience. they are hands off and don't provide real leadership. the CEO recently promoted a person which he said 'we like to promote from within, however we don't have many promotable employees today'. After being with the company for 15 years, I've been through the hard times, but now times are good again it doesn't make sense. I make less Monday today than I did 10 years ago. all recognition bonuses, performance bonuses, and vacation time have been taken away. the insurance deductible has gone from $450 to $1500. We are now on a flexible vacation which means, if you get fired or leave you get nothing. When you 'negotiate' for time off with your boss, it really means you get to work out of office but must be in contact via phone and email. The only people who get bonuses are directors, vp's and plant managers. Interestingly four recent hires, two plant managers, and two directors quite. The longest ten year of the four was 5 months the shortest was three weeks. It's sad when you find out someone has left the orginization and the first thing that is asked were they fired. the moral is so bad employees are continually on edge if they are the next one to be let go....

They are a joke

Pros

They match 401k, with health benefits, and some child care help with a savings plan.

Cons

They are always dicking you around one way or another. recently they switched us to a 2-3-2 schedule and waited long enough for us to get used to it, only to change it back to a regular schedule with the understanding that they will make no promises not to do that again with no regard for the employee home life. If you are female FORGET about moving up. no matter how much you know, how good you are, and how good your attendance is. it just wont happen. they will promise you the moon and the stars as long as you keep your nose on the grind, but as soon as you ask for the better position you are owed, they make sure the slackers get it.... or the new guy. they dont allow music at any time, and expect that you dont talk much. and the managers are all 2 faced who talk about you behind your back. they will say good job to your face, but talk crap behind your back. they genuinely dont care about your growth with them.

Pros

The people I work with are great.

Cons

We have mandatory overtime all the time. The new plant manager seemed better but he quit because things were so bad. I can't wait to find something else and I'm leaving. All the managers in the plant work long hours too but I heard they are not allowed to hire more people to help us out.
