Pros
Regular paycheck with benefits including a reasonable 401K match.
Cons
There is no career path with the origination. The company continues to hire more and more directors, plant managers, and vp's that don't have company or industry experience. they are hands off and don't provide real leadership. the CEO recently promoted a person which he said 'we like to promote from within, however we don't have many promotable employees today'. After being with the company for 15 years, I've been through the hard times, but now times are good again it doesn't make sense. I make less Monday today than I did 10 years ago. all recognition bonuses, performance bonuses, and vacation time have been taken away. the insurance deductible has gone from $450 to $1500. We are now on a flexible vacation which means, if you get fired or leave you get nothing. When you 'negotiate' for time off with your boss, it really means you get to work out of office but must be in contact via phone and email. The only people who get bonuses are directors, vp's and plant managers. Interestingly four recent hires, two plant managers, and two directors quite. The longest ten year of the four was 5 months the shortest was three weeks. It's sad when you find out someone has left the orginization and the first thing that is asked were they fired. the moral is so bad employees are continually on edge if they are the next one to be let go....
