Pros

JK's Core Values and commitment to their employees make working here feel more like a career rather than a job. Furthermore, the companies focus on strategic planning and future growth help to motivate everyone to contribute 110% all the time to the success of the company.

Cons

There truly are no negatives I can think of, only opportunities to grow! The downside of our industry overall is that the low barrier to entry makes it easy for startups with no training or exerience to damage the reputation of all moving and relocation companies. This can make it harder and harder for "Pro-Movers" who operate by a set of core values.

Pros

Company promotes accountability within each department- a "its my job" attitude or culture. Chuck- the CEO/President has clear vision for future and is always looking to grow and improve the company. Great retirement programs with company funded 401K and a profit sharing plan that has been funded most years( 18 +) I have been with JK Moving.

Cons

Moving is a seasonal business ( May to Sept.) are busiest months- these are the busiest times of the year. We have same trials and tribulations most every to keep good helpers/workers in winter months or to ramp up with new or summer workers in the spring for summer season.

Thanks for your review. Due to the seasonal nature of the Moving Industry, much of our recruiting efforts occur during the beginning of the year. With multiple lines of business, we have contracts keeping our full-time employees working all year round and many of our seasonal employees convert to full time as we wrap-up the summer season. We also have a core group of seasonal employees that return year-over-year, providing a solid base of trained moving professionals.

Hard Work

Pros

Top-level training in the moving industry, surrounded by moving professionals who have made this their career, opportunities for advancement and serious overtime during peak season.

Cons

Scheduling was done on a day to day basis, 6 days a week. Not much work life balance as getting on a job sometimes meant evening / night work. This is the nature of the business.
