We appreciate your feedback. As you may have heard in our last employee communication meeting, we are working hard to change our culture. While we realize this takes time, we are fully committed to this. It’s actually a big part of our overall strategy plan for the organization. We are excited about what is ahead for JPS. Thanks for your hard work and dedication!

Pros

Plenty of overtime if that’s your thing since nobody wants to work at this terrible place jobs are always empty.

Cons

Incompetent management. No home life. 6 or 7 day weeks. Old run down machinery, some of which are literally in textile museums. Trouble keeping parts to maintain antiquated equipment. Constant problems with ac not working in the summer. Roof leaks everywhere with trash cans sitting under the drips and plastic covering machinery to keep water off. Takes years to move to jobs that are awarded. Management picks favorites that get away with everything. The company is so crooked they don’t even give employees a handbook, you have to go to HR and request to see the handbook. They have even went so far as to hand write things in the handbook when people ask about it. No reward for hard work and dedication. Corporate decides to give some employees in entry level jobs that require no skills a 13% raise which equals over $2/hr while others who actually run and maintain machinery and contribute get nothing but a hotdog and hamburger. Literally.

Thank you for your feedback. We absolutely acknowledge that our employees have been working very high overtime during the Pandemic. It hasn’t been easy, but our employees have shown a tremendous work ethic as we work through the many challenges. We have been steadily investing more resources in the Statesville plant and working to hire in a challenging labor market. We’re glad that we’ve been able to eliminate some of the upcoming Saturday work in Statesville. We’re also glad we were able to recently offer : no increase to health insurance premiums last year, a 50% pay out our 2020 bonus (even though we technically did not meet the goal, but it was the right thing to do), a 3% hourly increase in July, and added an additional Holiday on Dec 22nd to give employees some additional family time around the holidays. We were very glad to celebrate an employee appreciation day on 9/22 across all locations with a meal, as well as provide a meal in Statesville in August for 100+ safe days working. If you have other specific concerns that you’d like to chat about, feel free to use our “I need some help” board posted in all locations which will give you photos, names and contact information for HR, Supervisors/Managers, Sr. Leadership, a 24/7/365 monitored e-mail address, or an 800 number to report a concern.

Pros

I have been with JPS less than one year in my role as Lean Champion. A few of the pros of working here include a knowledgeable management staff who genuinely care about this company and the products we sell. The employees are engaging which helps me to drive continuous improvement on the floor. With JPS being young in their lean journey, there are several opportunities where I am able to exercise my capabilities to help JPS become a mature lean company.

Cons

The only con of working at JPS for me so far is just how loud the weave room can get. It took me a couple weeks to get used to it, but now the noise does not bother me at all.
