Cons
The people working at the corporate office is astoundingly unprofessional. They argue just for the sake of arguing in meetings, etc. I go to meetings and ignore 90% of the content. Why bother say anything meaningful when all you get is belligerent, tactless, individuals? I see no reason why I should give them ideas on how to improve the culture, people, processes when they don't know how to listen. They don't know how to recognize talent. It's utterly pathetic that they hire friends and family members. What happens when you hire and work with like minded people for years? Complete lack of creativity and competency. The most hilarious and ridiculous thing is that they don't even recognize it. My question is: If they're so smart, bright, talented then why is Jack in the Box shrinking, had to sell of QDOBA, and had to sell corporate owned restaurants to franchisees? They walk around the corporate office like entitled non-contributors. They don't contribute anything to the Jack brand, but they feel entitled for just being there. Jack in the Box is a dying brand. The new CFO and COO aren't going to help. How are they going to topple McDonald's, In-N-Out, etc? It doesn't matter what strategy they use, it'll fail. QSR has already been commoditized and the fast food restaurant with the highest market share won. Please don't talk about In-N-Out. They're a niche player and I can guarantee that they can't scale like McDonald's. The fast food industry is dead. The food kills you...period! Every year people are catching on. I was embarrassed to have worked there, knowing that I contribute to hundreds of thousands of deaths per year. The fast food industry can refute this all they want, but the truth, and it has been proven, is fast food kills. Compensation is below market average. Benefits are $600/month for employee & family under Kaiser. I get the exact same benefits at my current employer at 2/5 the cost. I like the CEO, but he's surround by incompetent team members at the VP level and below. The managers, at the corporate office, are atrocious. The nightly janitor is more creative and competent at his job, then 95% of the managers.
