Pros

Get Treated like you don't know what you are doing, yelled and cursed at an worst of all you get treated like garbage. Sorry until Jack in the Box changes it is not a place to work for. There is no Pro working at Jack in the Box!

Cons

Here are the cons of working at Jack in the Box, your fellow employees either don't do the job and leave it for you, or they walk out on you and leave you in a world of HURT! That's even if you can get them to show on time or even at all. Those employees get special treatment and for you my friend you get to work harder than you ever thought you would for fast food restaurant that doesn't care if your alive or dead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Most of the Team Leaders and Management don't train you properly and just put you out there with nothing more than good luck it will come to you in time. I hope who ever reads this thinks twice about applying at Jack in the Box, it will be a nightmare that will never go away.

Pros

Pay and benefits and employee meals the food is very good. Equipment is maintained fairly well. Company is passionate about food safety.

Cons

Top management is unrealistic and can be rude. It is a very political and advancement based on how well you are liked. Labor goals are unrealistic.

The worst job I've ever had.

Pros

I seriously cannot think of any.

Cons

The location I worked at was a franchise, so I understand not ALL locations will be this way. I got hired on earlier this month (February), and it took about 3 weeks for me to get finished with my orientation and everything else I needed to do. The communication was horrible. I felt like I had to hound my hiring manager to get answers to anything about orientation and the like. So, fast forward to two days ago. My first shift. I was excited and a little nervous. Never did I expect that the job would turn out to be a nightmare. I told them well in advance that I had no previous fast food/drive thru experience. They end up putting me on drive-thru. No big deal. I was pretty excited to learn the position. The supervisor I was working with let me watch her take an order all of TWO times, then left me by myself to do it for basically the rest of the day. I was barely shown how to work the POS/Cash register, and was yelled at when I tried to go through it to better understand it when we weren't busy. I was thrown into everything. They expected me to just magically know how to do it, and I got yelled at if I didn't do it fast enough for them. I'm sorry, I've never been shown how, or have done this thing. I can't just magically gain knowledge. Another example was when the employee who was working the fryer area left for an unknown reason. It was never announced, but I got told I needed to fry and assemble my own food now... as well as take the orders and the money. I had never worked a fryer before, nor had I been instructed on how to assemble anything prior to this. Were they understanding toward me? Nope. I just got yelled at for not going fast enough. This was all on my SECOND shift. Another HUGE issue, was the language barrier. A lot (98%) of the employees, including the supervisor training me, spoke Spanish, and not fluent English. I tried very hard to understand what was being said a lot of the time, but the language barrier caused much confusion. Not only with me, but with the customers. I would get yelled at if I repeated the order back to a customer to ensure accuracy because apparently "we don't have time for that". Even though the little "tips for success" paper above the drive-thru window lists that as one of the things to do. Orders would constantly be put in wrong, and I'd get yelled at for making the wrong food even though I was just going off of what the screen told me. Another employee constantly harassed/made fun of me for messing up or just generally not doing things "fast enough". I got told, by my supervisor, that her making fun of me was my fault. It was an extremely clique-ish environment. Like I said, I know this one restaurant/franchise in no way speaks for the entire company, but it just floors me that this goes on and no one knows about it, or just doesn't care. I guess if they're making money, that's all that counts. So, that's the story of how I worked 2 days at Jack in the Box before I quit. It was the worst job I've ever had. That being said, I'm not saying you shouldn't work at Jack in the Box. Your store's staff could be wonderful. If I had been properly trained, I would have loved the job.
