Jamf changed and not in a good way

Pros

Work-life balance is positive - they will allow you to take time for personal matters and be flexible with working hours Generous paid-time-off package

Cons

The culture changed in the past year. It went from an exceptional sales organization being dominated by supportive, kind and caring people that value different ideas, opinions, transparency, mutual encouragement and honest work to a full-on bro-culture where everyone just looks out for themselves. Their values of "selflessness" and "relentless self-improvement" are dead. Diversity is an empty buzzword. They did try to put some effort into achieving it but seem to have a preference now for overly competitive male salesmen. Managers do nothing against rivalry and toxic competition among team members instead, they seem to encourage the growing elbow culture. They over-hired sales reps and AEs, created roles with overlapping responsibilities and territories and downsized the territory for each employee while increasing targets. There are very little career and growth opportunities. People will stay in the same role or position without promotion for a long time. This is especially true for SDRs - there is no clear progression to AE even if you perform well. One has to be lucky that someone leaves and a spot becomes available for them to fill.

Jamf Response

We appreciate your comments and taking the time to share this feedback with us. At Jamf, our sales teams work in a very collaborative environment so that everyone feels supported and can share knowledge across the team. We are very sorry this was not your experience. We strive to set achievable targets for SDRs, and also offer and encourage Jamfs to explore horizontal and vertical career paths. Many of our Sales employees are promoted in the sales vertical, move into management to mentor others, and/or transfer to other departments to develop skills in other parts of our business. Our founders recognized, and our leaders today value, the long-term positive impact to build an organization deeply committed to bettering the lives of our employees, customers, and those in the greater community. Jamf is committed to selflessness and relentless self-improvement continuing to guide our decisions every day. If you feel management is not living up to these values or have a specific instance to report, please provide additional details to HR. Current employees can provide confidential feedback and concerns through our Employee Engagement Surveys or by reaching out directly to HR.

Pros

Strong product suite with genuine customer need. Many talented colleagues at the contributor level. Also some exceptional managers/directors.

Cons

Senior leadership feels out of its depth. The stock price has collapsed in recent years, which in my view reflects poor strategic decisions and inadequate leadership. A variety of changes from leadership have created an environment of distrust. Jamf is extremely aggressive in enforcing restrictive covenants, even against mid-level employees. After resigning for a new opportunity, I was threatened with legal action that ultimately lead to an offer falling through. The company relies heavily on short-term fixes instead of building a culture that retains people and is no longer the company it once was. A majority of talented employees are no doubt one foot out the door and the ‘sinking ship’ feeling summarised in other reviews feels apt. If I were to review this company purely on public information and ignoring the fact I’d worked there, the signs aren’t much better. A tanking stock price, mass redundancies several times over, the CEO has joined the board of another company at the tail end of last year, and the largest shareholder is now looking to sell. Not a great picture
