Lack of true leadership/direction, uninspiring

Pros

The people here are intoxicating in all the right ways - so many hard working, super smart, empathetic human beings that know how to get it done. Most of the people who work here care about Jamf, the people, the product and the customers.

Cons

The company has been on decline since the previous CEO left and most of the C suite is uninspiring. They continue making decisions that pull us further from our culture mostly for how they handle rolling them out. The problems they create from lack of insight/foresight on strategic decisions become middle management and individual contributors’ problem to solve. If feels as though none of them are actually passionate about our mission or can connect with our customers - and they express little empathy/provide no data when they introduce new org policies that make it feel less like Jamf. Also - multiple rounds of layoffs and an RTO policy that will almost certainly make people leave means we’ve ALL been doing 2x and soon will feel like 3x the amount of work filling the gap these layoffs created. Worse that merit increases are so small we can’t keep up with inflation, plus HR policies that don’t allow high performers to get the compensation/promotions they deserve.

Pros

I've made some very endearing professional and personal connections working here. Overall the personal culture and the people within it are very nice.

Cons

This place is driven to over utilize and under staff non-skilled employees. The few gems that are here will not last long. Hyper growth after being acquired by Vista Equity Consultants caused a massive misdirection of the company's original values and left the employee populace with a cowardly management structure shrugging its shoulders letting good people walk out on bad terms. If you want to get yanked around from one project to the next without resources or reasoning to do so, then this is the place for you.

Pros

*There are many great, caring people who work here *PTO policy (was) is generous *Benefits have been very good (declining)

Cons

As a longtime Jamf employee, I struggle to put this into writing. Jamf has treated me very well in previous years, and it’s hard not to feel loyal to what the previous iteration of Jamf was. Unfortunately, at a certain point, things can become so unrecognizable that you have to accept that the organization you loved in 2020 is not the same organization it is today. To be very direct and blunt - Jamf 2025 is an absolute disaster. Do not let there be any miscommunication here, people DO NOT like anything in the past 2/3 years that has gone on. Leadership is a complete and utter disaster. I want to be sure that this is clear. Leadership could not be worse. How this has gone on for years is SHOCKING. Why are we allowed to bottom out a companies morale? I have simply no clue. Layoffs. Return to office (it’s not return to office, it’s hybrid, they shrieked!). Reimbursement cutbacks. Lack of support for teams. All company meetings in person with the CEO on video call. It’s GROSS! It’s bad. I am ashamed to witness it. The people who aren’t getting laid off are either riding the ship down, or actively looking for a new job. How can you blame them, when people are simply told if they don’t like the changes, “this is not the place for you.” If you are on a commercial team, you now have your head on a swivel after they decimated that team in favor of “automation”. Why every single sales rep isn’t now looking for a job? It’s solely because they’ve checked out as they now Jamf is actively waiting to nuke their jobs. Seriously, who could have expected the reps you’ve demanded grind for you all of sudden lose interest with a complete lack of leadership and 1% pay raises.

Thank you for sharing such a candid review and for your years of contributions to the company. We understand how difficult it is to feel that the workplace you once valued has changed, and we take this kind of feedback seriously. Our leadership team is committed to improving communication, supporting our employees through transitions, and investing in both our Jamfs and our future.
