Pros

- I have a great team and manager - if it weren't for them I would have been gone a long time ago - Flexibility and Work/life balance - this is slowly going away especially with the RTO but compared to other companies I've worked for, I've had more flexibility and autonomy to do my job from anywhere and there hasn't been any pressure to do performative work for the sake of looking busy.

Cons

- "Build the plane as we fly it" mentality - strategies are ever-evolving with little time fully plot out next steps, dependencies and impacts. Sometimes strategies can shift so frequently that we haven't even really allowed for data to be gather before moving on to the other - Leadership (c-suite specifically) - feels that our leadership team has dis-jointed/inconsistent communication and more focused pleasing Board of Directors than our customer base. - Lack of product innovation - rebranding products doesn't really solve the problem of customers asking for new features - Pay - certainly not industry standard despite what they try to tell us and has only been compounded with layoffs and ICs needing to taken on the additional workload

Pros

- People, people, people. Can't stress this enough, - Wide range of opportunities for my role, - A lot of people around me don't realize how good this company is compared to other similar employers. It is easy to take things for granted and even though the overall quality of life at Jamf might have decreased from 90 to 70% lately, other companies have their standard at 50% or less. I will let that sink in.

Cons

- Some communication missteps from management that are leaving sour taste in mouth, - Salaries could have been better, but would you rather work somewhere life treats you well and you can actually relax at work or live in a golden cage? I tried both and I think it is clear which one I prefer now.

Lack of true leadership/direction, uninspiring

Pros

The people here are intoxicating in all the right ways - so many hard working, super smart, empathetic human beings that know how to get it done. Most of the people who work here care about Jamf, the people, the product and the customers.

Cons

The company has been on decline since the previous CEO left and most of the C suite is uninspiring. They continue making decisions that pull us further from our culture mostly for how they handle rolling them out. The problems they create from lack of insight/foresight on strategic decisions become middle management and individual contributors’ problem to solve. If feels as though none of them are actually passionate about our mission or can connect with our customers - and they express little empathy/provide no data when they introduce new org policies that make it feel less like Jamf. Also - multiple rounds of layoffs and an RTO policy that will almost certainly make people leave means we’ve ALL been doing 2x and soon will feel like 3x the amount of work filling the gap these layoffs created. Worse that merit increases are so small we can’t keep up with inflation, plus HR policies that don’t allow high performers to get the compensation/promotions they deserve.
