Pros

Worthwhile product, mostly fantastic and talented employees. Quality Department was well managed, helpful and friendly. Work was interesting and fulfilling when I was left to plan and complete projects.

Cons

Unexplained and unfair sackings contributing to a fear culture on the Operations side. Hierarchical nature between the US and UK, with the UK taking the fall for things that went wrong. R&D have relatively little accountability despite having more resources to study the processes. Planning was lacking, and projects were often reactive and unstable. There was no trust, flexible working was not permitted. Lip service was paid to mental health and wellbeing, but in reality little was done to help, eg allowing working from home/ flexitime for doctors appointments or childcare issues etc. This was despite this always being an option for senior management. Holidays had to be used by colleagues for childcare during Covid crisis. Sadly the culture of dog eat dog, bullying, and blame coming from the management undermined most of the positive experiences I had with the company. The culture of fear and blame lead to low motivation, stress, and burn out after a year.

Pros

great working hours health care sick pay

Cons

Some bad managers especially tissue tech manager she’s the most disliked manager within the clean room but the fear culture within jenavalve people won’t speak up there’s certain managers that want to climb the ladder and would step on anyone to get there There are some good directors and there easy to go and talk things through but these are often removed from the site with no explanation why There is a fear culture within the company for people getting sacked this means staff are on edge waiting for the day that this may come

Pros

JVT has lot of money to invest on the company and product (not on people). Management is willing to drive projects fast and dont worry about cost (but not spending it on the right place). Lot of enthusiastic new hires (especially managers) willing to drive for success (their management style may not work for everyone).

Cons

- Lot of politics and fight for power - Poor wages, especially in Irvine - They dont care about your career development - No clear leadership, especially in Leeds - Lot of negativity and bullying - Higher up mangers take decisions in both sites and tend to ignore the lower scale staff (who may have good ideas and experience) - Employee turn over rate is shocking especially in Irvine - HR is for management only. No confidentiality. - No employee benifits - No flexibility on working and poor response to emergencies. - CEO needs to know the competition that is going on in the management teams - All they want now is sell up, everyone in US is waiting for that day. Not many left here.
