Pros

Often young and enthusiastic management, gives the store a good energy, Can be fun especially if you work on a campus or at a busier store (i.e. delivery) Eligible to receive raises every semester, if you ask about it and make a good impression on management you can PIC (person in charge/be a shift manager) and make more money OR even go into management training, moving up the ladder pretty quickly Drivers can make pretty decent money with tips Get a set schedule for each semester, often coinciding with local college schedule (good for students

Cons

Corporate doesn't seem to care too much about its employees, beyond its managers (whom they also work to death--but they at least get pretty well-compensated) The strict dress code/procedures can be off-putting if you are looking for an easy job--not a job for slackers New 28 hour work limit as of January 2013 for hourly employees (so that they don't have to give benefits)... nice With the set semester schedule, makes it difficult to get time off (you have to find someone yourself to cover all shifts) Only Christmas Eve/Day and Thanksgiving Day off

Worst Delivery Job Ever!

Pros

They let you wear Jeans, that's about all i can think of

Cons

The only compensation for fuel that driver's get is 5% of the total sells they deliver, which would be fine if they had a minimum order amount of like $15 or $20 like virtually every other food place on earth that delivers, but they don't. They expect you to deliver orders as small as 4.50 sometimes which can work out to driving several miles for < 25 cents and whatever the customer decides to tip you which isn't going to be much if they only bought 4.50 worth of food. I've worked at about 5 different delivery places over the years, both big chain and mom & pop owned businesses and Jimmy John's is hands down the worst. It basically amounts to putting a bunch of wear and tear on your vehicle and getting not much more than minimum wage for it. The town I work in has another Jimmie Johns store a few miles away and they also periodically expect drivers to drive there to pick up supplies literally for nothing, I guess they think hiring you makes your vehicle and fuel company property or something.

Pros

Cons

Super stingy Get in trouble for not doing anything, even though there is nothing to do Clean pointless things Dont get paid for breaks (which is illegal) Forced to close on school nights (dont get home until midnight) Get written up if no one will cover shift, even if you are sick. Socks have to precisely cover your ankle bone We use Windex to clean tables, bathroom, etc. (not even sanitary) No raises
