Pros
Employment is better than unemployment. Thats all. If you are a consumer it is a free for all. Deep discounts on product that could be sold for much more. A great price for the consumer!! The Corporate marketing plan and focus on staying competitive at all costs and showing profit where there probably should be a decrease in sales has allowed for more and more promotions. This is great for the customer if you are interested in saving a buck. Thier sale mentality has changed over the years. In the past, a sale was an exclusive day or days where a customer could come to a store a receive a decent value sale and feel pretty good about thier purchase of a better men's clothing item or items. Now, it is a circus atmosphere of constant promotions involving local radio and tv ads that run constantly. This somehow cheapens the brand and attracts a different consumer. If you are interested in saving a buck only this is your brand!
Cons
There are many cons to this experience. Too many to mention in this forum. Pay for store managers is "liveable" for Assistant and Department Managers well, lets say it leaves much to be desired. Sales people are badly underpaid except for the busy season of Christmas. Upper management is totally out of touch with the field personnel on many levels. The focus on what is truely important and is the company's greatest asset--its people--is non exsistent. The employee discount on clothing is not even as good as the everyday sale culture pricing that has taken over. If you are a male employee looking to bolster up your wardrobe or a female employee there is NO benefit to buying this companies product. There are numerous issues with the everyday work enviroment. Many of these issues could be fixed with showing some respect for your workers.
