Pros

Wonderful coworkers and guests.Informal turn system works mostly ok. Seemingly endless supply of fresh merchandise- Merger with Men's Wearhouse means better IT and POS software are almost here.

Cons

The transition means some customer favorites are being discarded infavor of more fashion forward items. As the company rebrands itself management hasn't been clear on exactly what items are dead. This leads to customer service issues and sales that get cancelled that go against your commissions.

Pros

You'll get paid real money. The money you will work so hard here for is, in fact, legal tender, but you'll have so much else to do you'll forget that you're making money and feel trapped in a waking nightmare. The clothes are made by children in a sweat shop, but they are nice clothes.

Cons

Pay, Benefits, Store Managers are always under so much stress they're about to have a complete mental breakdown, the customers get better discounts than you. Honestly, do all the math (it's not that hard) and at some point in the year a sale will run that is $20 + better than your employee discount. Pay is horrible. Borderline min. wage/poverty. Too much work to do with too little time. Managers are greedy and lazy, archetypal power struggle. When you have to check on an order for catalog *internally* you have to wait on the same line as everyone else. Once I waited for over 2 hours to check for a customers order. During the 2014 holiday season you couldn't even get through. *SOME* of the customers can be insanely demanding and impossible to please. This isn't regular retail where someone asks a question and you show them where it is. No, in this kind of retail, you may very well be under someone's thumb for 2+ hours, showing them, fitting them and marking them for suits. Since Men's Wearhouse has taken over they are instituting so many new, and horrible changes only God knows what they will do next. The new tuxedo system is unnecessarily complicated and will just add even more work on to the thousands of other things you have to do but don't have time for there. NO work life balance. If you are in a keyholder position expect calls/texts from your Store Manager whenever/whenever. High turnover - So many new people no one knows how to do the job.

Pros

Good discount Store staff generally nice to work with. Did I say good discount. That's about it. That really is it.

Cons

Everything else. As a store manager you work 55 to 60 hours a week. If it's a random Super Tuesday sale your now working 6 days a week and 65hrs plus. If you get a day off, you might be away from the store but the store will call you all day with customer issues. The Regional manager talks to you like your the dirt on his shoe. NO work life balance. Don't even think about seeing your family or going to a event. Because you should always be at the store. Conference calls are just a excuse for the regional manager to yell at his entire district for a hour Better be on mute. Because your no allowed to speak. Pay for sales people is a joke. Minimum wage at best. Pos systems - they got new systems. A shame they don't work and we had to go back to the old ones. Tux rentals - no one wants to do them. They take forever and don't pay but a few dollars. Tailor shop - tailors are great. But the sales people are not tailors. So tell me why with none to very little training are the salespeople having to mark the suits for tailoring That's why the suits always come back wrong. Moral of the story , unless this is the last job on earth Look some where else.
