Pros

I used to really enjoy the culture, the people, and the values. However, over the past 2-3 years thats entirely changed.

Cons

Jobber notoriously undervalues and underpays its employees. It claims to be at market but is far from it. It further puts in place policies that are presented in a "positive" light because apparently we're all naive and stupid and can't read between the lines. They cut benefits, cut stock options, implemented a new favouritism stock and cash bonus program whereby a manager can "nominate" you for a reward at the end of the year. No milestones, or criteria you need to meet in order to achieve this bonus. Its just whether or not you're well liked and get enough face time with the right people. Again not about the actual work you get done or the quality of your work. Its all about optics at Jobber. Leadership is extremely disconnected from the day to day of departments and individual team members. They have insane expectations and yet refuse to hire more to support the growing organization thereby overwhelming their existing teams. I've never worked for a company whereby so many people have to take 2-3 month stress leaves because its too much. Why is that a thing? Why is that a cultural practice that you would want to take part in?? Why not just hire more and provide your employees the proper work life balance. Furthermore, it is consistently rumoured that individuals have been fired or "laid-off" because they simply disagreed with certain leadership and had a different vision for their department, product, or whatever they may have been responsible for. What the heck is the point of that? There is a real lack of innovation in this company, you can't go creating your own path or recommending solutions or new paths forward. Its all about what the leaders think will fill their pockets more and increase their share price. Remember they cut stock option grants for current employees so not like you can get a larger share of the success, even though you're the one breaking your back to raise the profile of the company.

Good perks don’t make up for bad management.

Pros

The perks were good and I think there are attempts to try and have a good company culture by following all the trends of tech. I’m talking things like swag, good benefits, free food, etc.

Cons

All the managers seem to just be the people there longest. So many of them seem so under qualified, lacking all leadership skills, and sometimes are jut not great people. A company that promises great growth for great performers surely lacked in it once I signed my contract. I was told that other people in my position had to do it for 7 years before moving. I was considered a high performer but had workload lowered - to the point when I left it felt like forced dismissal. The bottom line is they don’t care about developing people, no matter how many coaching sessions they have. These is also no diversity and inclusion. Nothing for pride, women’s day, national day or reconciliation. They just pretend like these things don’t exist but spout that they welcome everyone.

Pros

The team is great. They are some of the best people you will meet in spite of the garbage they deal with.

Cons

Compensation is low, and pay reviews are non-existent. However, they will send you a ton of useless garbage like branded shirts, random knick-knacks, etc., etc., in lieu of a fair wage. They'll also lie to you and tell you an independent company looked into the wages and they're industry standard when you know they're not. Oh, and they'll update you regularly with how much money they're making... it's a lot, and you won't see a cent. Have a hard on for being empathetic to clients but show zero empathy for their employees. If you can't or won't drink the koolaid then you will be blocked from being promoted, and will potentially be fired - they fire a lot of people around here and employees are on a revolving door. this company has weird culty vibes. The company initiatives completely ignore the humans doing the work. The CEO/founders are completely out of touch with reality in their weird quest to expand, expand, expand. They are making some very unempathetic/insane billionaire tech ceo-esque decisions. Promotions are given to the wrong people and the managers on this team are inept.
