Pros

Most doctors and staff are friendly and helpful. Pay is fairly comparable to other facilities.

Cons

Poor management from the ICU manager, Director, and even up to the CNO. Hardly ever see any of them and have quite poor communication skills. No physical involvement on the unit. They only come out of their office when there is an issue. Very high expectations with poor staffing and often given assignments with unsafe acuity levels. Nurses in ICU are treated as numbers and staffing seems to always be interested in down staffing regardless of how often you have to switch assignments throughout the shift. Very big problem in Concord. Need new management. Very hard to move up in the facility even though they promote advancing in your career. There are hardly any positions to further yourself.

Pros

Helping people get their insurances, payments and trading sorted out and knowing were taking care of them was absolutely the best part of the job.

Cons

Multiple bosses too occupied with other things to take care of inter-office concerns degrades the work environment tremendously. Being forced to cut back multiple projects obit causes more stress than is needed for the given already-stressful hospital environment.

John Muir Hospital - Good Care, Poor Management

Pros

The doctors and nurses generally seem to care about helping people that need it. Rarely rushed and seemingly happy about helping you.

Cons

Management is near worthless. When there's a problem is brushed under the table without a care or concern to the world. Why deal with issues when they can be ignored?
