Pros

Great team work among staff for the most part.

Cons

There are bullies and are not dealt with. "Just get along" and the sense it is all your fault when there is a problem. That smells of unprofessional conduct and favoritism. Also, you are NOT rewarded for an advanced degree. No mentorship or pathway to other career opportunities.

Thank you for your Glassdoor post that provided thoughtful commendation for your teammates; we hope that you are comfortable sharing this positive feedback with your department and manager directly, as well. John Muir Health continues to actively recruit and hire talent for our organization, with close to 400 jobs posted internally for our own staff; many of these positions offer promotional opportunities for employees who meet the described qualifications. Degrees or advanced degrees and certifications are absolutely figured into an employee’s compensation, if required for the position, which would be noted in your job description. We invite you to contact our Talent Acquisition team to discuss further. Your perception of unaddressed, unprofessional conduct and favoritism is a concern that should quickly be brought to the attention of your manager, leadership and Human Resources. This step aligns with our culture, policies and Brand Promise of, “We Listen, We Explain and We Work Together as a Team”. John Muir Health enforces these clearly written policies that prohibit discrimination and harassment in the workplace as well as allegations of misconduct, which include bullying and / or favoritism. Claims or allegations such as these are investigated fully and addressed swiftly and will not be tolerated. Our expectation is that all employees are aware of and understand the importance of reporting these behaviors to their manager as well as Human Resources. We encourage you to take advantage of John Muir Health’s “Open Door” policy and schedule a time to meet with your supervisor or Human Resources, to discuss any additional or ongoing concerns that you may have. We appreciate your service and look forward to hearing from you.

Pros

-Collegial environment (Physicians & RNs respect each other) -1st rate CNA corps. (Actual adults who take responsibility) -Clean and modern facility (90% private rooms, no overwhelmingly large units) -Line managers listen and show respect (Have had no dealings w/Directors, etc.) -A blame-free culture (I am not aware of any error situations where an RN has been hung out to dry)

Cons

A few areas for improvement: A real effort is made to offer timely and consistent breaks, but I've been missing a few lately Kitchen staff is not very responsive to patient requests Break rooms and nurse stations are somewhat down-at-heel I've avoided giving star ratings below unless I've had direct experience with the question. I'm not in a position to evaluate the CEO.

Pros

None everything about it is not what they portray.

Cons

Hours, amount of work an individual has to do, managers are never around and always leaving the office early. Basically if your not a manager you run the entire place like a slave adding more work to an already intense work load. Staff is extremely clicky they prey on individuals to make themselves look better. Horrible work environment. Try to change departments good luck they don’t. So any growth or change is nonexistent.
