      Pros

      Experience the stress and hectic work involved with a manufacturing line. Lots of interaction with local labor union.

      Cons

      Slow promotion even when promised fast turnover rate. Lack of engineering application until promoted to Washcoat engineering and Process engineering.

      Pros

      There is an extensive repository of information and helpful, friendly experts at the headquarters at Billingham.

      Cons

      The role is in the regional offices and is not one where you will see much manifestation of your skills as an engineer as the extent of your advice may be an adjustment to pressures or temperatures. Being focused on sales, significant technical work is not often required so there is not much of a challenge for hardcore engineering minds.

      Pros

      Amazing 401k and additional defined contribution plan. Regular profit sharing bonus, and good raises. Culture is improving every year, and it feels less and less isolated from the rest of the company.

      Cons

      Smaller part of Johnson Matthey. There is room to grow, but not as much in the Detroit area. Not as much exposure within the larger JM.
