Horrible offboarding in marketing layoff

Pros

Great company for the many years I've been there. Intelligence and kindness from the top down. Truly adhere to "the Juniper Way," which is a commitment to customers, partners, employees. They absolutely walked the talk.

Cons

With all the pros mentioned above, it was especially shocking that a 3rd party restructuring company recommended people be laid off not by role or effectiveness, but by number. Leadership then let those people go without notifying their managers in advance or letting managers have any say whatsoever in who was laid off. The people were told it wasn't personal--it was a box that the consulting firm told them to remove. Other people's roles were changed without prior consultation. Completely, utterly poorly executed. The human impact was not considered. Very disappointing and not at all what we've come to expect from this company.

Pros

Mental health days, some truly intelligent people who while frustrated still give everything they have to their work. Mist is best in the marketplace....at least for now.

Cons

One the reviews below stated 'toxic', there has never been a more true statement. Worked at Juniper for 6 years through 3 global sales leaders, 3 regional sales leaders and saw numerous great leaders get acquired into the company only to leave because of the 'toxic' culture. Most of the products are either a half or full step below the competitors (except for Mist). Leaders in the field don't listen and my leader never even sold before!

Pros

-Good pay and benefits -Good remote working options

Cons

-Complete lack of clear direction and leadership. If the direction you have been going the past two years has not yielded results, clearly it is time to find a new direction. -Company is lost and it is unclear that it will make it out of the struggles of the past two years intact. -Juniper deals with lack of revenue and inability to meet goals/ projections by constant workforce reduction and reorganizations. You can't reorganize every three months and expect results. -Too much investment in engineering and such, not enough in marketing and the other areas that are responsible for actually selling the products. If you constantly reduce your sales and marketing workforce you are not going to have anyone left to market and sell your products...
