K12 offers a variety of opportunities to learn and grow in the education profession. Because K12 is a large company and has a presence in multiple states, the networking options are invaluable. As an employee at K12 I know that my efforts are directed toward serving students, families, and other members of the K12 family.

Cons

K12 is a business and sometimes what is best for company may conflict with what is best for a single school or group of individual employees.

Pros

The job flexibility and the work we do for students in phenomenal. We have the ability and resources to reach students across the world and all different lifestyles. We can benefit student who are not able to be in a traditional classroom, who choose to not be in a traditional classroom, or have a rigorous extracurricular schedule. The flexibility for teachers is really great. We get to work from home and mostly, set our own schedules. This allows me to meet the needs of my students, but also my family as well.

Cons

It is a business and is run that way. This is both a positive and a negative. Sometimes the focus becomes making sure the students/families remain customers instead of educating them appropriately.

Some of the best reasons to work for K12 are the positive work environment, the amazing supervisors who are willing to work with you, and the huge impact you can have on students while they grow and learn.
