It is a great company to work for, good management

Pros

Very friendly environment, management build a trust with the workers which help to function on a daily babis

Cons

Although the bulk of the business is done in NJ, the management is trying to move the center of the decision making to Chicago.

Pros

Some great technology, good vacation policy, great pension, generally pleasant and intelligent colleagues. Opportunities to grow in the client-facing parts of the business.

Cons

The golden days are over. Most of the really good people already left - especially on the Getco side of the merger. Feels like it's in decline and has been for some time. The proprietary trading business in London is to all intents and purposes dead. Maybe it can be reborn, but only maybe.

Pros

Learned a lot from very smart people. Fast paced and exciting job. Social aspect to work was very enjoyable. Pay for exchange exams for UK, Nordics, Switzerland and Germany. Limited management hierarchy.

Cons

Long hours and early starts. Aggressive nature of sales staff who are regularly confrontational. Encouraged to take as little holidays as possible. Regular weekend work.
