Cons

After LDiscovery bought Kroll Ontrack in 2016, all benefits were stripped from document reviewers through various reclassification measures to redefine our relationship with the company. Taking away free soda and water was just done to let reviewers know who was boss. Getting assigned to projects used to be based on merit. Speed and accuracy no longer matter, and what used to be viewed as initiative to turn out a better product for the client is now viewed as disruptive and unwelcome behavior. Kroll Ontrack had a reputation in the industry of providing a high-end product for which clients were happy to pay extra. Now that merit matters little and llinitiative is stifled, the end-product has suffered. Clients are finding new vendors and the number of projects, at least in Eden Prairie, has shrunk. When LDiscovery bought KO in 2016, Eden Prairie's managed review service was running at nearly full capacity. Since then capacity dropped to 125 last year and now capacity has been cut by another 50% down to 60 or so slots. Getting on a project now is far more difficult. Under prior ownership and management, moving from one project to the next was done seamlessly without an interruption in employment. All this has changed as those now responsible for staffing projects can't seem to figure out who is available for projects or who even works for the company or whether you're a new hire or long-term veteran. This now seems to be a moot point with the sharp decline in projects in Eden Prairie.
