Terrible leadership

Pros

There were no positives about working here

Cons

The Executive leadership and all leaders do not listen to employees. They don't care about their people and retaliate.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. Our goal is to cultivate a positive and thriving workplace for all. KVC has a robust listening strategy that includes administering an employee survey 2x a year, offering feedback sessions to hear from different buckets of employees based on job roles and attributes, offer monthly trainings to managers and leaders on how to build and retain strong teams - these are just a few to name. It saddens us to learn that your experience did not reflect this. Your insights are important, and we will pass them along to our leadership to help us improve.

Flexible, Remote Work

Business Outlook

Pros

Entire department is remote, flexible schedule, remote materials provided (Chromebook, phone, headset).

Cons

Texts from team and different groups are constant, so you never get a true break from work (although you're also not getting paid to be on-call), additional PRN staff is needed, since there is a consistent need for additional coverage

Pros

They give you a lot of training and shadowing. My coworkers are very nice and we all support each other well. Supervisors recognize that there is a learning curve and give you a lot of praise for giving it your best efforts.

Cons

In my position as a Family Care Coordinator, working with families can be stressful. I was there for only a month before they gave me my first referral, and after that you get a new family about every week. Though there is shadowing, the pacing seems fast and that they kind of throw you into the work. I wish the pay was better. My pay is $44,000 and a $750 sign on bonus. Warning, you get the first half of the bonus at first check and the second half after 90 days, which they did not tell me about. When people think about nonprofits, they think about good benefits, but the PPO is $75/paycheck with a $6,000 deductible, which I think it pretty steep. I also think the documentation can be stressful as you have to document everything and complete a lot of paperwork when you first get started with a family. I also hear a couple employees talking about how much they work, and it sounds like they go beyond 40 hours in order to finish everything, which they don't get paid for as it's salary.
