Pros

KVC offers a great work environment with supportive staff and team members. Great relationships within the office keep everyone motivated to do great work. The work is also full-filling as you get to work with children and families achieve goals. KVC also offers flexible schedules, great benefits and PTO.

Cons

KVC is a non-profit organization that offers lower salaries for similar positions offered at a for-profit agency. KVC continues to work hard to address low salaries.

Thank you for your review. We're sorry to hear that your experience working for KVC was not as positive as it should have been. At KVC, "people matter" begins with our employees and we have launched many new initiatives in 2016-17 to make KVC a great place to work. It is one of our strategic focus areas and begins with our new expanded onboarding experience. We are also focused on achieving operational excellence which means our technology is constantly improving. Your suggestion about leadership development is a great one that we will be discussing and looking for ways to improve how we train our supervisors.

Thanks for taking the time to write a review. We're sorry that you're having a negative experience. Being a crisis family support worker is of course demanding, high-stress work and is, to some degree, just the nature of social work. That said, you should feel 100% supported in your role as you reach out to help children and families. Hiring is one of KVC's top priorities at the moment, as well as making sure current staff are supported and retained. We have over 100 open positions listed at www.kvc.org/careers and leaders throughout the organization are investing a significant portion of their time into finding and training qualified staff. We have also launched several initiatives aimed at getting employee feedback and offering more competitive pay and benefits. Please reach out to your supervisor and other local leaders with this specific challenge and others that you encounter. We can work together to make the organization stronger and provide high-quality service to children and families. And on the positive side, thanks so much for recognizing KVC's flexible schedule, effective management, and benefits including health insurance and paid time off. We hope you will work with local leaders to develop solutions and that you’ll choose to stay with KVC for many years to come!
