Great customers. Hard-working people in field sales, warehouses and plants. Cutting-edge technology and superior products.

Cons

Poor management. They went through three Director's of the Americas in the 6 years I was there. They are now a asking for "voluntary" resignations from 1000 workers and the CEO you have listed dumped his stock months ago and resigned as there was unethical behavior involving profit reports.

The people, whether recently hired or "lifers," are generally excellent to work with. I have enjoyed most of the new relationships I have built. The pay is not out of line for similar jobs. The bathrooms and break room are kept in spectacular condition.

Cons

There is zero career advancement opportunity. Kennametal is very good at "dangling the carrot" to keep people around but the only advancement opportunities are from within the customer service field. Forward, progressive thinking is frowned upon. Overachieving and excellent need not apply here. Mediocrity is celebrated. Some (not ALL) of management can be very close minded and condescending. The general feel of the office is that employees are treated like children (i.e. assigned seating, assigned lunch breaks, STRICT attendance policy, socializing is discouraged).
