Pros

Growing company in terms of footprint but layoffs are coming due to mergers and thus employees are on edge when it comes to job security.

Cons

Very closed circle. Hard to move up in the company due to lack of opportunities and entitlements that are perceived. hap hazard hiring process.

Good company overall...

Pros

The bank is client-focused and not widget-driven like some other large financial institutions.

Cons

While there are opportunities for salary increases, make sure that you negotiate a strong base salary during the interview process. Annual increases after that are maxed out at 5%...even for top performers. There is also a limited opportunity for advancement out of the Branch Manager position. You will hear otherwise.

Pros

Good work-life balance Pockets of talented professionals depending on department/region, etc.

Cons

Culture is not transparent or inclusive, which makes it difficult to innovate and slow to market with products. Constant (every 12-24 months) reorganization involves lots of employee churn as the bank hires cheaper and cheaper resources. $150-$200 worth of cuts planned between July 2012 and Dec 2013. Significant leadership turnover, slow to hire leadership (for example, Talent Leadership position open for almost 2 years between 2010 and 2012). Advancement happens largely when favorites are "tapped on the shoulder" by leadership.
