Pros

I have been part of the Placement Department for over two years now. Over those two years, we have seen tremendous growth (job security!) The work that we do is truly meaningful and so impactful, especially after what our great nation and the rest of the world experienced after the pandemic. Our work is directly impacting a depleted healthcare workforce that is in dire need of quality nursing change agents. With tremendous growth inevitably comes small bumps and challenges. The individuals successful in the Placement Department are the ones that embrace change and look to see how they can adapt to ensure the needs of the business (Keypath) and our partners continues to be met. Sadly, as in every bunch, a few “bad apples” have tried vehemently to spoil the entire batch. Instead of building their peers and rising to the challenge, they complain, are combative, and try to take away and distract from the hard and meaningful work most of us contribute to daily. The change to the consortium model undoubtedly took time to adjust. Our leaders recognized this and truly worked to put resources in place to ensure we felt comfortable in our roles and could continue to do quality work. Those who pushed back are ones who likely never worked where metrics needed to be met to ensure everyone was carrying their fair portion of the team’s workload. Metrics are in place to act as benchmarks for us – it helps us gauge our own workload and determine where we may need to spend more time and focus. I have worked in many industries before Keypath. This is the first company where I felt the VP of the department and management truly cared and invested in their people. Our VP makes herself available and works tirelessly to ensure we have what we need to be successful in our roles. The VP and management recognizes that we went through a major transition. Placement Dept pulse checks/surveys are routinely sent out and our feedback is HEARD and ADDRESSED! NOT MANY OTHER COMPANIES WOULD CARE TO DO THIS!!! Our VP and Placement Dept Leaders are transparent and make themselves available for us when needed. To be successful in the Placement Department, you must be one who thrives working autonomously while also embracing change. The work is definitely fast-paced, but that is what I LOVE about it!!! Each day is a new challenge as I work through new areas and regions to try to secure new clinical partnerships. This is the essence of what we do. You must be willing to work hard and show up with a good attitude. If you can’t do that, Placement likely is not the place for you. Placement Dept and Keypath Senior Leaders – Please continue connecting with your people just as you have been doing since day 1! I mentioned how the VP of the Placement Department is so closely in-tune with her employees – the same is with our CEO, Steve. I never worked for a company that had a CEO who could engage a room full of people with a smile and a fun, lighthearted joke. THIS is the type of environment people truly DREAM to work at!!!!! You can appreciate it if you have worked elsewhere... where you were just a voice behind a phone doing the same mundane work day to day with no positivity, care, concern, or connection from your senior leaders. Keep doing great work, Placement and Keypath Leaders. I have found my dream job because I have purpose in what I do. I am proud and eager to continue to make an impact on our future generation of healthcare workers.

Cons

Having a separate pool for sick time might be something to consider. Other than that, I am grateful for Keypath.

EVERYTHING ELSE! Leadership is demanding, micromanaging, and disrespectful. They are arrogant and misleading. They provide no formal training and place you on calls within your second week (after listening to 3 people they find are excellent) while expecting you to get students placed as soon as possible because they are behind on reaching their deadline date with all students place. Managers are not knowledgeable about their programs (too many moved around recently and one had programs taken away) and have a very hard time understanding questions you ask. You will learn more from another specialist who has not worked on the program for 2-3months. The communication is lacking, the cliques are very apparent and you know why someone in the department was promoted. If the leader (ship) does not like you or you do not ‘yes’ everything they wants, you have no place in placement. How else did a certain person get the position they are in over someone more qualified and more respected, gifting has its perks! (This person is lacking on social skills and how to speak to employees) All the positive reviews you see are from the request of the leader(ship). In your first month, this person will request you to fill out a ++positive++ review. I did it because it was all roses at the beginning. Now months later I should have waited to review. The leadership team moved the department into a consortium style. This took one specialist from calling for one school and being successful to calling for multiple schools and being unsuccessful. This department quiet hired the already overworked, overwhelmed, and anxiety ridden staff so they don’t spend anymore Keypath money on getting us the help we need to be successful. Deadlines do not have a hard stop so you can be placing students for two semesters at a time. When the consortium started, we were given a survey. The results of the surgery before the consortium and after the consortium were drastic! The feedback was negative and eye opening that each employee was feeling the same, even the employees that bleed KP colors were speaking up. But the disheartening part of meetings we have/had about any survey we filled out was that the leader(ship) was upset because we were not giving them positively raving reviews. One meeting we had they told us ‘we need to do/be better and be more like a certain person’, not straight forward, but it was shinning in our eyes that we were not to up their liking. This department needs work, starting with the cliques the leader(ship) so desperately wanted and got. From the questions below…. Career Opportunity - will only happen by being a yes employee. Compensation - not enough for what’s expected - negotiate up. Benefits - health care is good, time off is not enough with this position. Culture - backstabbing, sabotage, and destroying. Values - you have to drink the leader(ship)s Kool—Aid. D&I - again if you are not a yes person, you won’t be invited to any table with leadership. Senior management- abusive, demeaning, haunting, unethical, disrespectful, impolite, immoral, outrageous, unsupportive, hurtful, harmful, coarse, hateful, bashing, impolite, imposing…I could go on… Work/Life Balance - only reason this is more positive is because of the work from home option so I can go cry myself to sleep during lunch or right after work or go to and from Dr apts/daycare when I can with permission.
