Pros

Transitional care means changing patients, most of whom are grateful for the care. Long terms nurses are dedicated and excellent. Psychologist is on top of his game.

Cons

The mix of LTC and rehab is a challenge to balance. While Kaiser is responsive to staff, many private doctors are aloof and need prodding to respond to requests.

Pros

Most of my coworkers are great to work with and we're all in the same boat. My supervisor is understanding and has a big shoulder and ear, but can't do anything to help the situation.

Cons

We are very consistently short-staffed and overworked, sometimes to the point of fearing to jeopadize our license. We have substandard equipment and not enough of it to go around. Supplies are limited, especially on the weekends. Standards are set by people who sit at a desk, NEVER administering patient care and don't have a clue that these things only work on paper, not in reality. We have too many chiefs and not enough Indians!!!!!

Pros

Nice facilities at the Corporated HQ building. Company tries to help with work/life balance by giving adequate PTO and occasionally closing for a half day on Friday. Technology is slow to come sometimes but they don't care to spend the money when they are convinced of the technology.

Cons

With the economy and uncertain reimbursement from the government for healthcare companies, the company has had to make cuts by not matching 401K, freezing raises and even taking 1 PTO day from every employee. The have also purchased a fairly large company and have had minimal, if any, increase in IT staff. IT staff are overworked.
