Good place to work, but demanding environment

Rewarding environment that encourages people to be their best. Believes in opportunity and development.

Cons

Demanding and not a 9 to 5 job. High expectations and the higher you go in management the less of a work life balance.

Pros

There is good pay and good hours. They have plenty of benefits to compete with other companies.

Cons

They are not as forthcoming with information to non management personnel as they could be. They hide and change their mind more with out telling employees until the last minute. Often making employees work days they expected to be off without. Upper management doesn't seem to be in control of employees. They have a list of values but only follow them when it is convenient for the bottom line. Health, safety and environmental issues only matter if it doesn't cost any extra money or slow production down.

Kinross pays good wages and has many knowledgeable employees. I really enjoyed working under my supervisors because they were sincere in how they cared for their employees.

Cons

The mine operations they own are generally in remote areas, so lifestyle outside of work may be challenging.
