I loved working here when I joined, but the company has really gone downhill over the past 2-ish years. Your experience really depends on the team that you are on, and I've been lucky to work with some amazing and skilled people, but over the past couple of years I've experienced and observed a lot of the following:
- Overall can be toxic culture and 'office politics' from management and leadership (gaslighting, micromanaging, lack of accountability, not listening to employees)
- Hard to progress unless you are part of really specific teams and projects that leadership is hyper-fixated on at a given time. I no longer feel like I can grow in my career here.
- RTO has been poorly communicated, is inflexible, and I also think the employee tracking dashboards are super dystopian.
- AI is pushed RELENTLESSLY, with very little thought. No overall or clear AI strategy, just shoved down everyones throat whether or not it makes any sense or has benefit. Very much a 'use it or else' mentality, and throwing every possible AI thing at the wall and seeing what sticks rather than being thoughtful about it.
- Really desperate attempts from leadership to push shiny new projects forward, with seemingly little thought, rather than really trying to figure out how to improve our product. Leads to constant pivoting and never actually building something quality start to finish.
- Have really lost the "put customers first' mentality - no longer feels like we're building for our customers, just whatever leadership feels is the hot new thing atm
