Used to be a solid company...now everything is uncertain.

Pros

There are some very talented people there...interdepartment communication is poor at times. Traders really do seem to care about their clients and put clients first.

Cons

Too many managing directors...top heavy structure. Difficult to get promoted from lower level positions. Depending on who you work for you can either have a great experience or a not so great one where you are just a worker bee.

Pros

Company is still heavily invested in technology and change is on the horizon with the upcoming merger with Getco. The company runs pretty lean in most areas to keep cost down and does leave room for future growth.

Cons

A lot of uncertainty about the merger and overlap in responsibilities, which will lead to layoffs. Under current management most employees are treated like cattle, which rewards mediocrity.
